£77.00

etching and monoprint

plate sizes: 12.8 x 8.2 cm

mount size: 21 x 29.7 cm

‘Some people are turnips. There’s no two ways about it.’ Not exactly what I was thinking when I made this image, but it was a friend’s response to it and it made me laugh. This print developed from a scene that I have made multiple attempts to work out. For this one, I started making an etching plate from a drawing. I then worked onto the plate with ink and pushed it through the press to make this unique print on thick Fabriano paper. I was happy with the effect of the monoprint technique, it captured some of the atmosphere and movement that I had in my head.
